Very important post here lads. I'm currently updating the teams section on the site and doing the player profiles.

If you have already submitted a profile before, then I will add it shortly but most of you haven't. If you follow the link below and scroll to the bottom of the page you can input details for your profile. Old Boys, if you want a profile inserted as well then please do submit a form also.

To see the sort of format for the profile comments then look at the Old Boy's profiles pages as I have just finished those. People have included details such as course, favourite UWMFC moment, best goal etc. I will alter the profiles anyway so they're in the third person so write it in whatever style you want.

As for the profile pics, either submit a link which will direct me to the desired facebook pic on your profiles or email the pic to the Club email which is - admin@uwmfc.com.

It's important every current squad member submits a profile to go on the site as it will make the site look soo slick and will make it more professional.

Finally, I will put people's profiles on the team that they finished the season with. I know the teams will no doubt change at the start of the season, so I will update them again then. If I receive the provisional team lists before pre-season, then I will obviously change the teams to match those.

Hi Lads

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

As i am going away for the next 3 weeks I thought I would update everyone on the schedule for the start of term so you know what to expect, (and so you can plan it around your drinking and sleazing on Freshers). 

- Monday 28th of September - Preseason training will start at Cryfield and everyone must attend, I cannot emphasise enough the importance of this. Preseason will consist of a minimum of 2 hours of football a day which will take place early afternoon.

- Saturday 3rd October - Friendly against Loughborough for Current Squad, 2 or 3 teams depending on numbers.

-Monday 5^th October – Term starts.

- Tuesday 6^th – Sports Fair, this is where we recruit the Freshers for the trials and so obviously is very important. Club Exec must attend and any other members are encouraged to help out, is usually a great day walking round in football kit checking out the new talent. 10am - 16:00

 

(Likely to be a friendly for the 1sts against Kenilworth 19:30 K.O either tues or wed)

 

- Wednesday 7^th – First day of trials at Cryfield. 10:00 - 16:00. All members must attend, one of the best days of the year, with an hour long discussion afterwards.

 

- Thursday 8^th – Second day of trials - This year i have changed the format of the trial to try and give us a better opportunity to pick the right players. We will have two 90 minute matches at Tarkett one at 5pm the other at 7pm. All exec must be there for both and other club members need to attend at least one of the matches, but both would be preferable. 

 

- Saturday 10^{th -} First Midlands Game for 1st XI and 2nd XI with friendlies for 3rds and 4ths.

 

- Wednesday 14th - First Bucs match for all 4 teams.

 

As you can see this gives us little margin for error as the season starts much earlier than usual and so fitness over summer is crucial, I will be setting up a facebook group soon regarding preseason. For those of you who absolutely can't make it this will be your opportunity to let me know.

Alright Boyos,

Just a message to say I’ve started with the updating of the site and the minor changes will be seen over the next few weeks as I get round to them. Wally has also been working on a class update for the site which I'm sure Wally will tell you all about as it's put into motion.

I have sent a word doc to next year's exec via email regarding the privileges you have on the Website. I'd recommend you take a look at it during your spare time as it should tell you all the basics you need to know.

As most of you are probably aware I set up a fan page for the Club on facebook. I know how people like to tag Football related pics of themselves and the fan page is the easiest way to do this. The aim is to still put the pics on the site gallery but with the gallery acting more as a back-up.

A fan page on facebook has the potential to benefit the Club in a number of ways with the main one being increased exposure to the website and the Club in general. The impact won’t be seen until next season but for now if you could all get signed up to it and get your mates signed up as well that would be great.

On a final note, I hope everyone did well in their exams and has a tidy summer. As for the leavers I didn’t get a chance to say bye to most of you, so good luck for the future and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
